Hesitate…

I have been a busy little bee.

Been back to Disney to see Mark Hamill at Star Wars Weekend. We had a blast.

The foot has been really good. I have been walking more. Which the doggies love.

I have been back to crossfit on a regular basis. I was so sore last week I had to skip a day, because I was shuffling to walk, and I could not pick up my laundry basket. haha…This week has been much better.

I have made a few PR’s this week. MY front squat is up to 60 lbs for a 1 RM. It was heavy. But in turn coach said I should add 5 lbs. Since we were looking for nearly failure, or failure one rep max. I hesitated. I know I did. Why?? Because I was fearing getting injured. Since I am so prone to injury. I know I can not do better, if I do not do what is uncomfortable. That was uncomfortable.

Then later in the week, we did deadlifts instead of another movement due to the weather. I did 95lbs for the workout. That’s another PR after looking at my log. My 1 max rep was 105. Then we did a strict press, after the workout. I did 35 lbs. 3 x 10. first set I made it to 6. My arms were on fire, and shaking. Then Coach S wanted me to add 5lbs. I just couldn’t I was having a had time getting to 10 reps.Β  Second set. I made it to 7. My arms are now jelly like and I was shaking.Β  Coach S was not satisfied with that. I had to do 10. So I started to tell my self I was out on the marathon route pushing my Mom up that last Nasty bridge before we go back into Epcot. {because that is one of my all time goals} I got to 6 and my arms were on fire and shaking. Strict press, no bending or a slight push from the hips. I just kept telling myself I have to get over this bridge, the sweepers are coming. I pushed out #8. Almost there… #9… I can hear broom Hilda Screaming 30 seconds..and counting that was that sweeper who sounded like the Witch from OZ on her bike she was the one who caught up to me before coming into Epcot in 2012, when I had sprained my ankle a week before the race weekend.Β  It was my first Goofy. They count down, while you are out there working your ass off to finish.I did get into Epcot before she made to one that was mile 23…. I pushed out that last one #10! I was shaking so bad… Again I hesitated. I truly believe, I would not have been able to do the extra 5lbs. Not that night. But next time I will add it.

Every other day the doggie and I have been walking in the morning. Doing pretty good. We did a couple of sprints. No pain. So I will add that in some where.

Happy Monday. Happy Hurricane season.

What a long work weekend for me.Β  I can not believe we have moved right on into June already.

Looking back on May.

Got moving more. I just got tired of waiting for my doctor apt. Saw the foot doctor. Went back to crossfit. Starting walking more. Have been having less foot pain. Started and finished the Whole30.

Looking forward.

This week we can add stuff back in to our diet. So this week we are adding in tomatoes, And cheese. Making sure it’s not full of added additives. We both like the fact we like how we feel without the extra garbage sugars. We can get our cheese locally. Which is a plus. Tomatoes we are adding back in have to be organic. If we can get them from our co-op we will.

Last week I made it to crossfit. I was able to go twice. It is hard to go when work just gets in the way. But I do mobilize at home, foam roll, and meditate. I was so sore all week after that. But I feel so much better. I can’t wait to go tonight. I love the fact that we were able to scale down to my needs with my foot.Β  Going to try to add my bike back in. I miss riding my bike. I never upgraded my bike. I am going to use my bike trainer and see if I can get back spinning.

30 +

This is the last week of the Whole 30.

What have I learned? I thought I had a handle on the sugar. Which I now have more a handle on. Finding out there is even sugar in ALL salad dressings. So we now make our own.Β  We mix fruit juice with seltzer water. Not all seltzer waters are equal. The fruit juices we drink do not have sugar in them. Trust me they’re out there.

I have more of a sensitivity to gluten than I thought. I can’t eat certain nuts. Thinking it was something else and realizing it was certain nuts. I do miss pasta. Not so much rice. I haven’t eaten bread in years (3) We make our own mayo. For tuna salad and chicken salad.

It will be interesting to see what happens when we reintroduce tomatoes.

Foot update.Β  My foot has been good. Last week was completely pain free. So far this week as well. I have been back to crossfit. So far so good. Coach has been able to replace some things with other stuff for the running, and pounding part. I have to do push ups on my knees. Added aΒ  couple ab. mats under the knee to help with the lunges for the foot. Weighted. We have been walking the dogs around the block. Which is a half mile.

Today I am super sore. That’s ok. I am also seeing that I am hungrier, since I have been back at the box.Β  I have been adding more veggies. I am also seeing I want to just munch. I have been able to stop it. I just have some hot tea.

My sleep has improved. My fitbit keeps me in the loop with that. I notice I have not been getting up as much in the middle of the night. E has improved.

We also decided that we will not keep ourselves from having a treat. Instead of having something everyday. We are saving it for special occasions. AKA birthdays, holidays or a trip. It’s not something we need every single day.

Slow Down

Foot update. Saw the foot doctor. I have been ground for 6 weeks. NO type of pounding on the foot.Β  SO that means NO Disneyland this year. Disneyland 2015.

The second toe the joint fluid is inflamed. That toe being longer than the rest{the bone is much longer} striking the floor first has caused the the joint to be unstable. It has also causedΒ  the large tendon that runs on top of that toe to be inflamed. That is the reason my part of my leg gets sore in the front. Yuck…

Now I need to see what I can do at the box.

Whole 30 update. Today is Day 15.Β  I can’t believe it is half way through.Β  I have been feeling better. I have noticed how I do not have any type of GI distress. I do have more energy and I am sleeping better. E is having the same results. Other than he has been sneaking on the scale and he has drop weight.Β  The headaches are gone, the mood swings are gone and the foggy feeling is gone. YAY!!!
